Ingredients:
– Package of string cheese
– Panko Bread Crumbs
– Italian seasoning
– Parsley
– Milk
– Flour
– Marinara Sauce or ranch for dipping
– Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Cut the string cheese into bite-sized pieces.
2. Prepare the coating process by setting up three separate stations:
– Station 1: Pour milk into a bowl and set it aside.
– Station 2: Place flour in a plastic bag.
– Station 3: In another bag, add panko breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning and chopped parsley.
3. Dip each piece of string cheese into the milk, one handful at a time, ensuring they are fully coated.
4. Transfer the milk-coated cheese into the bag with flour. Seal the bag and shake well to coat the cheese with flour evenly.
5. Return the cheese to the milk bowl and coat it again to create a wet layer.
6. Finally, transfer the cheese back to the bag with panko breadcrumbs, seal the bag, and shake until the cheese is evenly coated with the breadcrumb mixture.
7. Place the coated mozzarella bites on a plate or in a bag and freeze them for at least 1 hour. This helps the coating adhere better during frying.
8. Heat up oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat. Make sure there is enough oil to submerge the mozzarella bites.
9. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the frozen mozzarella bites one by one. Fry them until they turn golden brown, which should take about 1-2 minutes. Be cautious not to overheat the oil, as this may cause the cheese to ooze out of the breading.
10. Using a slotted spoon or tongs, remove the fried mozzarella bites from the hot oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
11. Serve the fried mozzarella bites warm with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
