Variations and Additions:

  1. Sautéed Onions: Consider sautéing some sliced onions and adding them to the casserole for extra flavor.
  2. Veggies: Along with green beans, you can include other vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or spinach for added nutrition.
  3. Herbs: You can add dried or fresh herbs like thyme, oregano, or parsley to infuse your casserole with more flavor.
  4. Creamy Touch: If you like a creamy casserole, mix in a can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup before baking.

Seasoning:

Feel free to experiment with different seasonings. In addition to garlic salt, you can try other seasonings like paprika, black pepper, or a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.

Serving Suggestions:

  1. Serve your casserole with a dollop of sour cream on top for a delightful and creamy contrast.
  2. A side salad or coleslaw can complement this hearty dish and add a refreshing element to the meal.
  3. You can also serve it with some crusty bread or rolls to complete the meal.

Make It in Advance:

This casserole is convenient to make in advance and reheat later. Prepare it, cover it, and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake it. You may need to add a little extra cooking time if the dish is cold from the refrigerator.

Cheese Variations:

Experiment with different types of shredded cheese to find your favorite combination. Cheddar, mozzarella, or even a blend of Mexican cheeses can all work well.
